Professor Paul Christensen is a leading authority on lithium‑ion battery fire safety. Owner of Lithiumionsafety Ltd and Professor of Electrochemistry at Newcastle University, his research was the first to link vapour cloud explosions to lithium‑ion battery energy storage systems, and he advises the National Fire Chiefs Council and major EV and battery manufacturers on practical, real‑world safety.
