The VoltHub has built-for-purpose features to care for batteries, always keeping them charged under optimal conditions, lowering the risk of a fire to begin with.
Should a fire unfortunately break out, the unit reacts promptly using an audible and visual alarm and GSM module to notify up to three phone numbers of choice. At the same time, VoltHub will automatically suppress the fire in the affected locker, preventing thermal propagation onto neighbouring lockers and charging equipment. As if it couldn’t be any easier to keep Li-ion battery charging safe, the unit is simple to use and requires minimal servicing, powered up with just a single external socket… Leave it all to VoltHub.
The impact of a battery fire can be inconceivable to some, sadly the risk is growing and the damage if it happens? Colossal.
If a charging battery is faulty, damaged or subjected to extreme temperatures, a chemical reaction can occur which in turn causes an event called thermal runaway. Toxic and flammable gasses are emitted and if these aren’t extracted, an explosion is highly likely.
VoltHub’s key features, including forced ventilation and fire suppression ensure any risks are greatly reduced. Born out of an industry need for batteries to be charged in a safe and secure place, VoltHub is the perfect solution.
VoltHub keeps Li-ion batteries charging in optimum conditions, proactively lowering the risk of a fire.
A thermostatic heater keeps temperatures at optimal levels inside the VoltHub while the forced ventilation keeps air flowing through the unit.
The power cut-off feature activates when internal temperatures reach 60C or more and the isolator switch can be used to turn the unit on and off manually whilst the climate control and emergency alert systems are fully automated and will activate when needed.
Unfortunately batteries can sometimes be faulty in which case the VoltHub has a range of reactive features to minimise any risks should a fire break out. A visual and audible alarm alerts those around the unit that there is a fire inside and to make contact with emergency services.
A certified fire suppressant, specific for dealing with Li-ion fires is localised to each locker dealing with the fire directly should a battery catch fire.
When a battery goes into thermal runaway, it begins venting dangerous gasses, the GSM phone and text alert will notify you whilst the power supply for the sockets is cut off. However, the forced ventilation will continue to operate and exhaust these gasses, greatly reducing the risk.
