Spread along the promenade and throughout Brighton, you’ll find 14 Armorgard TuffBank TB3s installed by the local council. Their initiative was to strategically place toolboxes throughout the city, containing essential tools, litter pickers and bin bags, making it easy for volunteers to engage in cleanup activities. Not only does this keep all this vital equipment easily accessible, but also safe and secure!
Councillor Tim Rowkins, cabinet member for Net Zero and Environmental Services, talked about the popularity and impact of these tool boxes, “the tool chests are incredibly popular with residents and are very well-used. The tool chests located along the seafront, for example, are used by more than 4,000 people taking part in regular beach cleaning activities every year”.
Rowkins then went on to say that “People regularly donate money to help us keep these well-stocked, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who uses this equipment to help us keep our city looking fantastic.”
The end goal for the town is to have an Armorgard TB3 toolbox to replace every older box. To Brighton Council, the TuffBank TB3 is more than just a secure storage box, it’s a hub for community action, bringing a spirit of collective responsibility and care for shared public spaces.
By providing a secure and robust home for the necessary tools, the council is paving the way for a cleaner, greener city for everyone to enjoy.
